Acrostic poems are simple poems in which each the first letter of each line forms a word or phrase (vertically). An acrostic poem can describe the subject or even tell a brief story about it.

Homework for the whole class - Until the 1st December 4.00 pm you have to write an acrostic on NATURE.

Week 9; 8-12.11.2010; A healthy mind in a healthy body



WEBQUEST

Step 1: Take the quiz on http://www.nutritionforkids.com/emlnews/FK-May09.htm to determine what kind of eater you are.

Circle your eating type: Planner Grabber Skipper

Then write down at least 2 reasons why this is good /this is bad.

Step 2:Get familiar with the food pyramid by visiting http://teamnutrition.usda.gov/Resources/mpk_close.pdf and watching the video below.

Step 3: Use http://teamnutrition.usda.gov/Resources/mpk_poster.pdf or http://teamnutrition.usda.gov/Resources/mpk_poster2.pdf to look more closely at the food groups on the food pyramid. Use the information you find to complete the information below by typing in some food options for each category.

Grains
Vegetables
Fruits
Milk
Meat and Beans


Step 4: Based on all that you now know complete a menu of foods and beverages that you would like to eat for each meal. Try to chose healthy options .
